S Health by Samsung
Pre-loaded to the Samsung Galaxy S5 & newer devices, this app provides you with the ability not only to keep track of your eating habits, but you can set it to track your hiking, biking, walking or cycling excursions! You get to see exactly where you've been and what you've accomplished! |
Prep & Plan
- Save money on your next trip by doing some grocery shopping beforehand! Buying non-perishable food items and separating them into single serve snack bags will make it an easy grab for you and your family while also taking it a little easier on your pocketbook.
- Bonus: This is also a great way to keep your eating habits in check while you are on vacation. Rather than fast food that will be high in fat and sodium, you can snack on some pre-made sandwiches or protein bars while hitting the road!
- Charge your devices (and the kids' devices) the night before your trip and have car chargers or mobile chargers at the ready for when they run out of juice!
- Make sure the kids' apps are car friendly! (Meaning, they don't need wifi to use them.)
- If you download movies to watch in the car, be sure they are accessible without internet connection. Movies saved to a "cloud" will not play without internet service.
- Consider books like "Where's Waldo" to give the kids something to do during the ride that keeps them in the travel mood and is less likely to make them carsick like reading can!
- Plan stops to break up the monotony of a long drive! Look up scenic overlooks, state parks or natural attractions where you can picnic, stretch and even take a hike!
